Vertical Garden at Tacoma Goodwill Center

Last September French artist Patrick Blanc installed an 800-square-foot garden wall at the Goodwill Industries building on South 27th Street in Tacoma.

The installation is built on a metal frame supporting PVC pipes fronted by a couple layers of felt. It looks like irrigation comes in through those four pipes at the top.

This is what it looks like in January. It will be interesting to see what it looks like this Spring.

Thanks! I wish I had a better camera (and skills). I was trying to get a picture of the little slits/pouches they had cut into the top layer of felt but couldn't get a decent photo of them.
